Guidelines for the Evaluation of DD-ROBOCON 2024 Stage 2

As part of Stage II, all qualified teams from Stage I need to submit the following videos by the deadline specified on the website while adhering to the rulebook:

For teams with both Robot - 1 (R-1) and Robot - 2 (R-2)
A. Seedling Picking and Placing Mechanism (30 points): In this video (maximum 45 seconds excluding Measurement), Robot-1 (R-1) should be shown picking at least 6 seedlings (one after the other or together) and placing them in their respective areas. Specifically, the videos should demonstrate the following functionalities:

  1. Movement of Robot-1 (R-1) from the Start zone.  (5)
  2. Movement of Robot-2 (R-2) from the Start zone.  (5)
  3. Seedling Picking by Robot-1 (R-1) and placing them in the respective areas. (20)

B. Paddy Rice Picking and Throwing Mechanism (30 points): In this video (maximum 60 seconds excluding measurement), Robot-1 (R-1) or Robot-2 (R-2) should pick grains (balls) (at least 5 balls each, empty or paddy, alternatively) from area 2 and successfully transfer them to area 3. The following aspects of the robot will be considered during evaluation:

1. Paddy Rice Picking Mechanism from area 2 and successfully transferring them to area 3 (at least 5 balls).  (15)
2. Empty Grain Rice Throwing Mechanism from area 2 and successfully transferring them to area 3 (at least 5 balls).  (15)

C. Grain Picking and Storing Mechanism (40 points): In this video (maximum 60 seconds excluding measurement),  Automatic Robot [Robot-2 (R-2)]  should pick grains (balls) (at least 6 balls, empty and paddy, alternatively) from area 3 and successfully store them in the silos zone of area 3. The following aspects of the robot will be considered during evaluation:

  1. Paddy Rice Picking Mechanism from area 3 and successfully storing them in the silos zone of area 3 (at least 3 balls, balls should be placed in different silos).  (20)
  2. Empty Grain Picking Mechanism from area 3 and successfully storing them in the silos zone of area 3 (at least 3 balls, balls should be placed in different silos).   (20)

Note 1: Measurement of distances should be clearly shown in the videos.

Note 2: If the team has not included some mechanism as explained in Stage 1 design document, then the team's score for that mechanism will be given as per the score obtained in other mechanisms. Kindly mention in videos which robot is performing the tasks. i.e. R1 or R2.

Submission Details:
For each mechanism, one separate video must be prepared. Additional instructions are given below for all the videos that should be kept in mind while preparing the videos:

  1. All the files should be uploaded to a single Google Drive folder which will be accessible by the judges. Only the link should be submitted via a Google Form.
  2. The combined size of all the files should not exceed 1 GB.
  3. Robot functionality should be demonstrated in a single, continuous shot.
  4. Use multiple cameras for better visualization with one camera showing the complete view.
  5. Compliance with competition rules will be considered during evaluation.
  6. All videos should be named as “Team Name demonstrated mechanism” to ensure proper evaluation and be in the .mp4 or .avi format only.
